Terravention

Terravent is:-

The means of decompacting, aerating and injection of liquid media into most soil environments.

Terravention is:-

The complete process of decompaction and aeration, including the injection of beneficial liquid media into soil environments by using the terravent.

Terravention can be applied at any time during a plants life, ideally, before decline has started to occur.

Where decline is occurring it is now proven that even extreme cases can be treated with tremendous results. The results can be seen first hand by visiting The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, London where Terravention is employed in combination with Plant Health Care Inc (PHC) MycorTree injectable, to treat various species of trees in the Living Collection.

Terravention has been developed over a number of years based upon a simple and commonsensical belief, the key to successful treatment is quite simply to recreate a natural growing environment.

With constructive criticism from expert users of Terravent, in particular The Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, a package has now evolved providing our customers with a credible means to carry out effective treatment.

Terravent is set to become one of the most widely used and best known systems for plant health care. Whilst Terravent is not a lazy mans tool it is the only truly viable method of achieving the desired results.

A forest or woodland tree has a good soil to air ratio therefore providing the trees roots with an environment that can sustain healthy growth, whereas trees living in and around our many structured environments are subjected to unnatural stresses, in particular, compaction.

In our quest for the most beneficial treatment program for plant life, two particular injectable products have been identified. The use of these products with Terravent is recommended upon the basis of:

a) Observed beneficial results for plant health.

b) Compatibility with Terravent.

c) Commercial viability.

The two products are:

Both of these products used singularly or combined, in conjuction with decompaction and aeration, provide a natural and healthy growing environment.

Features and Benefits of using Terravent

  • Hand operated
The operator can ascertain the severity and location of compaction and set blast pressure accordingly.
  • Narrow hollow probe with several exhaust holes
Enables insertion into the soil with minimal effort and allows the decompaction blast to travel into the soil throughout a range of depths.
  • Variable blast pressure release
Compaction at different depths can be effectively treated.
  • Total portability
Areas not normally tackled in decompaction and aeration programmes can now be treated, such as banks, gullies, bunkers and street trees.
  • Noiseless operation
Allows work to continue without disturbance to others in the vicinity.
  • Few moving parts
    Minimal maintenance requirements.
  • Runs on compressed nitrogen gas
Does not pollute the atmosphere or the soil in which is works.

Greenways "Tree Roots"

"Tree Roots" is a complex formulation containing humates, seaweed (Ascophyllum nodesum) and Yucca (Schidigera) which has been tried and tested to help encourage and promote new root growth. Carbohydrates and seaweed also act as a direct feed for bacteria and mycorrhizae, particularly those within the rhizospere.

Humates and seaweed will also act as a soil conditioner in improving water holding capacity and soil aeration.

"Tree Roots" is not a direct feed or fertiliser for the plant (although seaweed does contain small amounts of N-P-K and growth hormones) but by encouraging mycorrhizae and natural beneficial soil micro-organisms the plant roots have an increased amount of soil minerals available with obvious benefits to the host plant. The suppression of certain antagonistic soil micro-organisms is also of benefit to the treated plant.

By directly injecting into the soil through Terravent, which also decompacts the soil profile, "Tree Roots" can be applied into the rhizosphere.

MycorTree™ Tree Saver Injectable

MycorTree™ Tree Saver Injectable contains live spores of beneficial Endo-and Ectomycorrhizal fungi and yucca plant extract for innoculation of trees and shrubs with soil injection equipment.

It is used to improve feeder root growth on mature and newly planted landscape trees and shrubs in a broad range of soil conditions. Recent field research has shown dramatic increases in feeder root growth on mature hardwood and conifer trees within two months of application. Mycorrhizal fungi are mixed with water and injected into the root zone of the tree.

MycorTree™ Injectable contains live spores of beneficial VA endo and Pt (Pisolithus tinctorius) enctomycorrhizal fungi that are adaptable to 99% of all plant species and a wide range of soil types and environmental conditions. Yucca plant extract powder is added as a natural soil wetting agent and microbial root stimulant to help the mycorrhizal fungi colonise the root system. Once the micorrhizae are formed, they protect and expand the feeder root system, improving water an nutrient uptake, and ensuring long-term survival and disease resistance for plants.

MycorTree™ Tree Saver Injectable should show its value in its ability to increase feeder root growth and mycorrhizae development, reduce risk of tree loss or decline due to water stress, helps prevent root system decline in ageing and contruction damaged trees and improve the survival and growth after planting.
